Taiji Jian (Sword) Weekend Workshop

September 24, 2022 @ 7:00 am September 25, 2022 @ 5:00 pm EDT

Location

Xuan Ju Daoist Center (Francestown, NH)

When

Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 7:00 am – Sunday, September 25 at 5:00 pm.

What

Since ancient times, Wudang has been associated with the sword, just as Shaolin is associated with the staff. The Jian’s movements are rounded, quick, and stealthy – avoiding direct clashes but using the opponent’s power against them. Taiji Jian has flexible blades which are not meant to meet force with force; instead, a swordsman should deflect and redirect blows before moving to strike. The nature of the weapon lends itself naturally to the principles of the Wudang arts, and combination, the style, and the weapon both reveal their greatness.

The Taiji Jian practice will inspire you.
